Hailing from Goderich, Ontario, Animal Mother is a young protopunk band built around two brothers and their close friends, bringing the raw energy of punk’s earliest years to a new generation. Their sound and live performances draw inspiration from artists including The Ramones, The Clash, The Stooges, The Sonics and The Damned, combining fuzz, feedback and the straightforward energy that helped define early punk rock. The band has taken that sound beyond their hometown with performances around Southern Ontario, including StrummerFest and The Crusher Music Festival.

Animal Mother joined us for the 2026 Punk Rock Market, making them an especially fitting part of our celebration of 50 years of punk. As a Goderich band carrying the sound and spirit of early punk forward, we were incredibly happy to have them take our stage and be part of the day.
